About the position

As the Social & Digital Media Manager at United Way of Rhode Island, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our online presence and engaging with our community through innovative digital strategies. In this dynamic role, you will take ownership of our social media platforms, utilizing tools like Hootsuite to schedule and monitor our activity effectively. You will create consistent and engaging content that resonates with our audience, while also actively engaging with our followers to cultivate a supportive online community. Your responsibilities will extend to uplifting our grantees on social media, showcasing their successes and contributions to our mission. Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work closely with various teams within United Way to promote events and initiatives that make a difference in our community. You will partner with the development and fundraising team to effectively promote campaigns and collaborate with the events team to create engaging content that highlights the impact of our events. Additionally, you will manage our digital media library and work alongside our Brand Voice Manager to deploy short-form content and stories. Data-driven decision-making will be a crucial aspect of your role. You will manage our digital platforms, analyze social media performance, and oversee digital and media ads to maximize our reach and impact. Utilizing tools like Google Analytics and Hootsuite's Analytics dashboard, you will track and interpret performance metrics, providing actionable insights to continuously improve our digital marketing efforts. As part of your additional responsibilities, you will lead the implementation of our upcoming text platform, stay updated on the latest trends in social media and digital marketing, and provide insights for enhancing our strategies. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies that resonate with our audience and drive engagement.
  • Take ownership of Hootsuite to schedule and monitor social media activity effectively.
  • Create compelling and consistent content for all social media platforms, ensuring alignment with our mission and goals.
  • Foster a sense of community by engaging with followers and cultivating an active online community.
  • Actively engage and uplift grantees on social media, serving as a supportive partner for them online.
  • Partner with the development and fundraising team to effectively promote fundraising events and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the events team to create engaging content that showcases the success and impact of events.
  • Manage and maintain the digital media library, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Serve as a creative partner alongside the Brand Voice Manager to deploy short-form social content and stories.
  • Utilize Google Analytics and Hootsuite's Analytics dashboard to track and analyze the performance of digital content and campaigns.
  • Monitor and interpret social listening reports to influence content and audience direction.
  • Manage digital platforms, social media analytics, and digital ads to ensure optimal performance.
  • Work closely with the data team to compile comprehensive reports and provide actionable insights.
  • Lead the implementation and management of the upcoming text platform.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in social media and digital marketing.

Requirements

  • Degree or demonstrated experience in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in managing social media platforms and digital marketing campaigns.
  • Proficiency in Hootsuite, Google Analytics, and other digital marketing tools.
  • Strong understanding of social media analytics and metrics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the nonprofit sector.
  • Familiarity with programmatic, fundraising and event promotion strategies.
  • Knowledge of text platform management.
  • Experience with Asana and Hootsuite a plus.
