About the position

The Social Media and Public Relations Associate at Sarasota Orchestra plays a vital role in connecting the organization with the community. This position involves managing social media content, coordinating press releases, and engaging in community outreach activities. The associate will support the marketing department in various capacities, ensuring effective communication and promotion of the orchestra's events and initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, create, and implement marketing content for social media.
• Engage with various departments for cross-departmental needs.
• Track feedback from social media platforms and edit video clips for postings.
• Participate in marketing team analytics meetings to develop and analyze strategies.
• Implement boosting campaigns on social media posts under direction.
• Write and distribute press releases about concerts and events.
• Coordinate media interviews and engagements for orchestra spokespeople.
• Post events on online calendars and maintain a media contacts database.
• Coordinate the orchestra's presence at public engagement events.
• Provide support and cross-training for other department staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in communications, digital marketing, arts management, music performance or related field.
• 1+ years of professional experience or relevant internships in marketing coordination with social media experience.
• Experience with public relations and community engagement is a plus.
• Strong planning, coordination, and writing skills.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented culture and detail-oriented.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with classical music at a college level strongly preferred.
• Flexibility to work outside of conventional office hours at concerts and special events.
