In this role, you will assist in developing and implementing social media strategies that engage the Bulldog community across various platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok. You will be responsible for creating eye-catching graphics, producing engaging videos, and crafting compelling captions that reflect the Bulldog spirit. Additionally, you will monitor our social media channels, respond to comments and messages, and interact with our online community to foster strong connections. Your involvement in campus events will also provide you with the chance to offer digital coverage of activities happening at Ferris State. Collaboration is key in this position, as you will report to the Social Media Coordinator and work closely with the Marketing and Communications team to plan and execute social media campaigns and promotional activities. Staying ahead of the game is essential, so you will be expected to research the latest trends and best practices in social media and digital content creation to keep our content fresh and relevant. Furthermore, you will monitor and analyze social media performance metrics, prepare reports, and provide insights and recommendations to enhance our online presence. Crafting engaging and informative SEO-rich blog posts will also be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that our audience remains informed and entertained. Lastly, you will assist in creating impactful digital advertisements to promote university programs and events while maintaining the Bulldog brand's voice and visual identity.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Must be a current student at Ferris State University and eligible for student employment.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and their respective best practices.
  • Some experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) and/or video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative thinking and the ability to generate innovative content ideas.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing principles and strategies is a plus.
  • Prior experience in social media management or content creation is preferred but not required.
