The Social Media Assistant at Grandbaby Cakes plays a crucial role in overseeing and executing the brand's social media strategy. This part-time position involves creating engaging content, analyzing trends, and driving storytelling to enhance the brand's presence across various social media platforms. The role is designed for a creative individual who is passionate about food and culture, and who can contribute to the brand's mission of building connections through the universal language of food.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees social media strategy
  • Researches and identifies insights, trends, and opportunities to elevate social content
  • Creates various forms of social media content--videos, images, and text captions--suitable for social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube
  • Contributes to the creative ideation, content capture, and editing of brand activations to keep the brand at the forefront of pop culture
  • Develops and creates big ideas to create viral moments
  • Conducts an analysis of what other organizations and brands are doing on social media and presents findings to the digital team
  • Helps manage our social media presence by scheduling posts, engaging with followers, and analyzing performance metrics
  • Helps establish affiliate linking in stories
  • Leads team on trending topics
  • Drives storytelling and maximizes social impact
  • Creates engaging, authentic influencer content and supports it with amplification and paid strategies to connect with new and existing customers
  • Develops the vision for social media channels and influencer management, guiding the team in content creation to ensure alignment with key objectives

Requirements

  • A degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in a social content role
  • Hands-on experience from conception to production, with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get involved in the execution
  • Compelling online portfolio demonstrating creative versatility, conceptual thinking, and superb design execution
  • A deep understanding of social platforms and their creative formats
  • Experience taking a moment in culture and reacting quickly to create a social activation
  • Extreme attention to detail, understanding of design principles, and the creative process
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to respond professionally to creative direction and constructive feedback
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro)
  • Detail-oriented, organized and able to manage multiple priorities that may be constantly changing
  • Self-driven, flexible, and highly energetic with strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently both independently and collaboratively
