About the position

Puppet Showplace Theater is seeking a part-time Social Media & Communications Associate to manage the social media calendar and produce related content. The role involves supporting the Marketing & Communications team in various projects, including digital design, blog posts, and marketing emails, while providing administrative support.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the social media calendar and produce related content.
  • Assist with digital design projects and create blog posts.
  • Support the team with marketing emails and other communications.
  • Provide administrative support, including updating and managing third-party event listings and organizing digital assets.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience creating social media or video content, or similar communications experience.
  • Strong writing skills for both short- and long-form content, with a professional voice and excellent command of English grammar.
  • Ability to generate creative ideas for content and connect them with current communications trends.
  • Experience in planning and managing a content calendar based on messaging and sales priorities.
  • Basic graphic design skills, including competency in Canva or similar programs.
  • Basic video filming and editing skills for social media.

  • Excitement for the arts, puppetry, theater, or children-focused organizations.
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and explain creative choices.
  • Openness to learning new skills and software.
