About the position

The Social Media Community Manager & Crisis Monitoring role is a temporary position focused on community engagement and crisis management within the Office of Communications. The position requires a highly skilled communicator who will monitor social media interactions, moderate comments, and respond to community inquiries while maintaining brand values. The role also involves analyzing engagement metrics and providing insights to inform strategies for audience engagement and crisis response.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement community engagement strategies that support audience goals.
  • Prepare a crisis action plan and execute it when needed.
  • Moderate discussions and content on social media platforms.
  • Respond to community inquiries and feedback through direct messages, comments, and social media email.
  • Conduct community listening and analyze conversations around the brand.
  • Analyze and report data to assess community engagement and sentiment.
  • Detect early signs of a crisis and identify potential risks in community conversations.
  • Assess the impact of a crisis and report findings to stakeholders.
  • Monitor trends, news, and social issues on social media to identify relevant content and flag sensitive topics.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in social media management and community engagement.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond to crises effectively.
  • Analytical skills to assess engagement metrics and community sentiment.
  • Proficiency in social media listening tools and analytics.
