About the position

The Social Media Content Assistant at BYU-Hawaii is responsible for assisting in the planning, designing, and production of content for the university's official social media accounts. This part-time role is ideal for students looking to gain relevant experience while contributing to the university's online presence and community engagement.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, creating, and curating engaging content (text, image, and video) for various BYUH social media platforms, ensuring alignment with the university's voice and mission.
• Manage day-to-day activities on social media platforms, including posting, monitoring, responding to comments and messages, and engaging with followers.
• Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) across social media platforms and prepare regular reports on performance metrics to inform content strategy.
• Work closely with marketing, communications, and design teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all social media platforms.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices, and suggest new features or strategies to enhance the brand's social media presence.
• Assist in developing and maintaining a content calendar for timely and coordinated social media posts.

Requirements

• Photography/videography skills, including knowledge of composition, lighting, framing, and editing.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to craft clear and engaging messages.
• Multitasking and organizational skills to manage multiple social media projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Canva) to create visually appealing content.
