About the position

The Social Media Content Creator position is a part-time role within the Strategic Marketing and Brand Management department at Carroll Community College. This position is designed for dually enrolled students who are currently high school juniors or seniors at CCPS. The primary responsibility of the Social Media Content Creator is to create, upload, and monitor engaging social media content that showcases the Carroll community from a personal perspective. The role involves executing creative concepts for content, planning timely marketing campaigns, and utilizing social media marketing tools to enhance brand awareness. The position requires the individual to establish relationships and networks with industry professionals or influencers on social media platforms. The Social Media Content Creator will report directly to the Assistant Director of Digital Marketing and Strategy. In this role, the individual will be responsible for creating graphics and engaging daily with followers through stories and unique reels that provide value to the College's target audience. The position also requires active engagement in conversations with followers, monitoring comments, and being comfortable appearing on camera. The Social Media Content Creator will complete tasks related to video editing and copywriting using mobile applications, and will leverage personal experiences within the Carroll Community to showcase a unique journey as a student. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. This position is ideal for a self-motivated individual who is punctual, reliable, and possesses a strong aptitude for social media management. The work environment is situated on a college campus, providing direct contact with a diverse group of students, staff, faculty, and the general public. The role requires adherence to safety precautions typical of office environments and involves a flexible work schedule, generally amounting to 10 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Dually enrolled at Carroll Community College and CCPS Junior or Senior high school student
  • Valid Work Permit
  • Experience or strong aptitude to learn social media management
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Self-motivated with the ability to exhibit professional behavior at all times
  • Ability to accept constructive feedback and implement recommendations for improvement as directed
  • Awareness in trends with the ability to engage the community
  • Ability to work independently or in a group
