In this role, the Social Media Content Creator will work closely with various teams across the organization to plan, schedule, and create a high volume of engaging posts, videos, and graphics. This includes crafting compelling narratives that educate and activate the Sierra Club's base, utilizing current social media trends to enhance reach and engagement. The candidate will also be responsible for community management, actively engaging with audiences across platforms, responding to comments and messages, and building relationships with external accounts to amplify the Sierra Club's message. Analytics and reporting are crucial components of this position. The Social Media Content Creator will track engagement metrics, analyze the effectiveness of different content types, and provide insights to inform future strategies. Collaboration with other environmental organizations and influencers will also be key, as the candidate will work to strengthen audience strategies and campaign outcomes through partnerships. The role requires a deep understanding of SEO principles and content optimization to ensure maximum visibility and engagement. The Social Media Content Creator will continuously adapt strategies based on performance data and feedback, ensuring that the Sierra Club remains at the forefront of social media engagement in the environmental movement.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, scheduling, and post creation for the Sierra Club social media calendar.
• Create a high volume of engaging and educational posts, videos, and graphics that promote the Sierra Club vision, mission, and values.
• Engage with audiences across all social media platforms, responding to comments, messages, and replies.
• Track engagement metrics such as likes, shares, comments, and reach, and analyze the effectiveness of different content types and campaigns.
• Proactively coordinate with other environmental organizations to amplify reach and share resources.
• Optimize social media content for search engines and platform algorithms in collaboration with the web development team.
• Develop and execute influencer partnerships to strengthen audience strategies and campaign outcomes.

Requirements

• Strong track record of skilled video production, editing, and graphic design using tools such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Proficient in social media management platforms such as Sprout and expert knowledge of social media platforms including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, BlueSky, YouTube, and Pinterest.
• Experience in writing short form copy for social media and marketing campaigns with the ability to craft engaging content quickly.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills applicable to internal and external engagement.
• Proven track record of skilled planning and managing complex content calendars and campaigns.
