About the position

J.McLaughlin is seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media Coordinator to join our team at our head office in Brooklyn, NY. This full-time position is integral to enhancing our brand awareness and engaging our community through effective social media strategies. The Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for the organization and execution of various social media campaigns across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and Twitter. This role requires a keen understanding of digital marketing trends, excellent communication skills, and a passion for fashion and lifestyle. The ideal candidate will be flexible and open-minded, adapting to the constantly evolving landscape of social media while maintaining a positive attitude and being a team player. In this role, you will assist in developing and implementing social media campaigns that align with our brand objectives and drive engagement. You will work closely with the Manager to create and curate engaging content, including photos, videos, and captions that resonate with our target audience. Monitoring social media channels daily for trends, news, and feedback will be essential, as will responding to comments and messages in a timely manner. Collaboration with the marketing team to integrate social media strategies with overall marketing plans and initiatives is also a key responsibility. You will support store events by attending and capturing real-time content for social promotion. Analyzing social media metrics and insights to track campaign performance, optimize content, and report on KPIs across organic and influencer content will be part of your weekly and monthly tasks. Staying up-to-date with social media best practices, algorithm changes, and industry trends will enable you to recommend innovative strategies. Additionally, you will coordinate influencer partnerships and manage relationships to amplify brand reach and engagement, including influencer outreach, managing gifting, and creating and distributing UTM links prior to influencer campaign launches. You may also assist with other marketing projects and initiatives as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field required.
  • 2+ years of experience working in a social media role, preferably within the fashion or retail industry.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, analytics tools, and content management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a creative flair.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Passion for social media, fashion, lifestyle, and staying ahead of industry trends.
  • Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for reporting and presentation purposes.
