About the position

The Social Media Manager will play a crucial role in enhancing the connection between Allies of Skin and its community. This position involves leading and executing a comprehensive social strategy across various platforms, including Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. The ideal candidate will be passionate about social media, community engagement, and the beauty industry, with a strong focus on data-driven performance optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day channel management from ideation to execution, including mapping out content calendars and creating social briefs.
  • Write and edit copy for all social channels, ensuring a consistent brand voice.
  • Provide real-time and in-person social support during brand events, including pop-ups and influencer events.
  • Manage and monitor data platforms like Tribe Dynamics & Dash Hudson, using analytics to inform improvements and provide reports to the Marketing team.
  • Plan and schedule all social content, including weekends and holidays, to maintain social presence.
  • Collaborate with the executive team and Community Coordinator to strengthen community connections.
  • Support the Social + Community Coordinator with community engagement across platforms.
  • Collaborate with the Customer Care team to share community feedback with upper management.
  • Lead initiatives to gather community feedback on product development and existing products.
  • Assist with ad hoc marketing projects, including photo shoots and brand events.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in social media or community management.
  • Experience in the beauty industry and start-up environments is a plus.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Comfortable on camera and filming content.
  • Proficient in Microsoft platforms; experience with Asana/Figma is a plus.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and experience with customer experience (CX) is a plus.
  • Experience with social data tracking platforms like Dash Hudson and CreatorIQ.
  • Eager, positive attitude and self-starter capable of managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to think creatively and develop unique social and marketing strategies.
  • Collaborative and open-minded, thriving in a fast-paced startup environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in beauty and start-up environments.
  • Familiarity with Asana and Figma.
