About the position

The Social Media Manager for the Amarillo Sod Poodles is responsible for creating engaging and innovative content that enhances the organization's social media presence and drives community engagement. This role involves collaborating with the marketing team to leverage game highlights, player interviews, and trending topics to amplify the brand's voice. The position offers a dynamic and fun working environment within a recognized minor league organization.

Responsibilities

• Create and post social media content that maximizes engagement and amplifies the organization's priority messages.
• Act as a key contributor to real-time content as part of game coverage.
• Assist in executing social sponsorship activations.
• Create graphics for social media.
• Monitor and assess social media analytics to identify areas of improvement.
• Produce social content optimized for each channel and audience.
• Assist the Director of Marketing in managing the content creation schedule and social media publishing calendar.
• Engage with Sod Poodles social accounts in an authentic voice to grow connections and followers.
• Quickly recognize and react to real-time trends and current events.
• Stay informed on social media trends, including developments in video and design, platforms, best practices, strategies, and innovations.
• Constantly develop skills and explore new creative techniques.
• Communicate creative ideas within a collaborative environment with the communication and marketing team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in digital, social media, or copywriting.
• Proficient in Adobe Suite, specifically Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
• Experience creating and distributing engaging content for social media platforms including X (Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
• Creative, out-of-the-box thinker with knowledge of sports, pop culture, and entertainment.
• Organized, flexible, and high attention to detail with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work with a team and take direction, as well as work independently.
• Passion for social media and Sod Poodles baseball.

Nice-to-haves

• Professional sports, college, or minor league team experience preferred.
