About the position

The Social Media Manager at INDYCAR will play a crucial role in executing the social media strategy across all INDYCAR-owned channels. This position involves leading social media efforts through content development, community management, and engaging with fans to grow the audience. The manager will work closely with a team of social strategists and content creators to align with the broader marketing vision.

Responsibilities

  • Inspire and develop the social media team, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Lead the day-to-day development and execution of social media content strategies.
  • Create compelling content for all INDYCAR-owned social media networks.
  • Work with the Director of Digital Marketing to develop innovative strategies for fan engagement.
  • Monitor content and campaign performance through regular reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and race teams to promote events and initiatives.
  • Identify content trends and opportunities for community building.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in social media management.
  • Deep understanding of major social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, TikTok, Threads).
  • Experience with social analytics tools (e.g., Blinkfire).
  • 2+ years of experience overseeing direct reports.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and Premier Pro.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the sports or entertainment industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
