About the position

S-M Industries, Inc. is seeking a creative and driven Social Media/Marketing Manager to join our team on a freelance basis. As a well-established chemical distribution company with over 20 years in the industry, we supply essential ingredients to the fragrance, personal care, and industrial sectors. This part-time position allows you to choose your own hours while contributing to the growth and visibility of our brand. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective social media strategies that enhance brand awareness and engagement across various platforms. You will play a crucial role in shaping our online presence and brand image, ensuring that our marketing materials resonate with our target audience. In this role, you will be tasked with creating and curating engaging content tailored for platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter. You will manage our social media accounts, which includes scheduling and publishing posts, monitoring comments and messages, and responding to inquiries in a timely manner. Analyzing engagement data to identify trends and optimize content strategies will be a key part of your responsibilities. Collaboration with other departments will be essential to align social media efforts with our overall business goals. Staying updated with the latest trends, tools, and applications in digital marketing will also be part of your role, as you will set key performance indicators (KPIs) for social media campaigns and measure their success against these metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement social media strategies to increase brand awareness and engagement.
  • Create and curate engaging content for various social media platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and others.
  • Manage social media accounts, including scheduling and publishing posts, monitoring comments, and responding to inquiries.
  • Analyze engagement data and identify trends in customer interactions to optimize content and strategies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align social media strategies with overall business goals.
  • Monitor social media trends, tools, and applications to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in digital marketing.
  • Set key performance indicators (KPIs) for social media campaigns and measure their performance against these KPIs.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Social Media/Marketing Manager or similar role.
  • Excellent knowledge of social media platforms and best practices.
  • Strong writing and communication skills and graphic capabilities (PowerPoint, Adobe, Canva).
  • Ability to analyze data and use insights to improve social media strategies.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to develop engaging content.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (preferred).
  • 2 years of experience in Social Media/Marketing (preferred).
