About the position

The Social Media Manager at Big Sky Resort is responsible for overseeing the resort's social media channels, ensuring the brand's voice and identity are consistently represented across various platforms. This role involves developing and executing annual social strategies aimed at increasing brand affinity and engagement, managing content creation, and collaborating with internal teams to support seasonal brand objectives. The ideal candidate will leverage strategic thinking and performance metrics to enhance the resort's digital presence and promote the Big Sky brand effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, and oversee daily operations of all resort social media channels including content calendars and community management.
  • Create and implement social media campaigns to promote Big Sky Resort products and experiences.
  • Monitor and respond to feedback on social channels to foster a positive relationship with the audience.
  • Facilitate the capture of dynamic, real-time content that resonates with resort social media audiences.
  • Support comprehensive content capture efforts, including developing creative briefs and managing production logistics.
  • Work closely with the marketing team and other departments to ensure consistent messaging across initiatives.
  • Analyze and report on platform performance metrics to optimize content and engagement strategies.
  • Support influencer marketing strategies and expand a network of creators and partners.
  • Lead live social coverage of resort events, ensuring timely content delivery across platforms.
  • Collaborate with digital marketing teams on paid social media strategies and optimization.
  • Stay ahead of social media trends and best practices to maintain relevance and drive engagement.
  • Build meaningful connections with target audiences to grow social media following and brand affinity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Hospitality, or Communication.
  • 3+ years managing social media channels for a brand or organization.
  • Experience in the hospitality or outdoor industry preferred.
  • Strong understanding of platform-specific best practices and adaptability to evolving trends.
  • Experience developing and executing social media campaigns and community engagement strategies.
  • Ability to curate content that aligns with the brand voice and marketing goals.
  • Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g., Sprout Social).
  • Proficiency using analytical tools (e.g., Google Analytics, native platform insights).
  • Experience managing online communities and customer service interactions on review platforms.
  • Strong communication skills to respond diplomatically to feedback.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with marketing teams and external partners.
  • Experience managing relationships with influencers and content creators.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
