About the position

The Social Media Manager at Kommissary is responsible for building and enhancing the company's social media presence from the ground up. This role involves creating engaging content, coordinating marketing events, and driving branding strategies to address food insecurity in NYC. The manager will work closely with the CEO and business development team to achieve significant engagement and follower growth across various platforms, while also establishing Kommissary as a recognized brand in the community.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a marketing plan to publicize organizational goals through social media.
• Create a social media and events schedule to be reported weekly to the CEO.
• Achieve five-digit engagement across social media platforms by the end of the third month.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute marketing events in collaboration with the Business Development team.
• Establish analytics and reporting mechanisms to track social media performance and implement improvements based on data.
• Build and maintain relationships with community advocates, influencers, and aligned brands to amplify reach.
• Ensure consistent messaging across all communication channels and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Exceptional storytelling abilities.
• Passion for improving access to nutritious and quality food.
• Knowledge of photography, videography, and editing software.
• Experience in planning and executing successful marketing events and community outreach initiatives.
• Strong understanding of branding strategy and ability to align social media with brand objectives.
• 2+ years of experience in social media management, events coordination, and/or public relations.

Nice-to-haves
