About the position

The Social Media Manager for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) is responsible for creating, implementing, and maintaining a robust online presence for the organization through strategic management of social media accounts. This position requires a proactive approach to developing and executing social media marketing campaigns that engage fans and promote rodeo events. The Social Media Manager will oversee all day-to-day postings and activities across various social platforms, ensuring that the PRCA's voice and tone are consistently represented and that the content resonates with the audience. In this role, the manager will utilize analytical tools to monitor the effectiveness of social media efforts, generating weekly reports that assess the impact of campaigns. The position involves collaborating with team members to create innovative and entertaining content, as well as moderating user-generated content and engaging with followers to foster a positive online community. The Social Media Manager will also work closely with sponsors, partners, and media teams to promote live events and ticket sales through social media channels. Additionally, the manager will be tasked with tracking campaign performance, analyzing data to maximize results, and providing reports on established performance indicators to leadership. The role may require travel to select rodeos to produce live content, including interviews with cowboys and PRCA members, and creating and editing videos for various digital platforms. This position is essential for driving fan engagement and increasing publicity for the sport of rodeo.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day posting, planning, and community management of PRCA's official social media accounts including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.
  • Create innovative, entertaining, and original content to accompany copy across multiple platforms.
  • Evolve the established voice and tone of the PRCA brand to promote positive fan engagement and drive demand for rodeo content.
  • Stay updated on emerging social media trends and best practices, integrating new opportunities into PRCA's social presence.
  • Moderate user-generated content across platforms and engage with followers.
  • Work directly with sponsors, partners, rodeos, and media provider social media teams to promote live events and ticket sales campaigns.
  • Create initiatives and goals to promote PRCA events and athletes, increasing publicity and interest in rodeo.
  • Collaborate with Graphic Designer, Content Creator, and Media's editorial staff to showcase the uniqueness and value of PRCA.
  • Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media programs and analyze campaign effectiveness.
  • Assist with analytics, tracking campaigns and sponsorship executions to ensure successful social media posts and promotions.
  • Provide reports on performance indicators to leadership.
  • Coordinate social media campaigns integrated into PRCA's strategic marketing plans.
  • Travel to select rodeos to produce live content, including interviews with cowboys and PRCA members.
  • Create and edit videos for social media and digital platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, or a similar field.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in social media management or marketing.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud including Photoshop, Premiere, and InDesign.
  • Strong understanding of all social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok.
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics, keyword research, and SEO techniques.
  • Understanding of AP writing style and excellent grammar and spelling skills.
  • High level of interpersonal skills and integrity to handle sensitive information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with poise and tact.
  • Strong decision-making skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret social media reports and metrics.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
