About the position

The Social Media Manager at General RV Center is responsible for leading and managing all social media efforts across the company's corporate and local dealership channels. This role involves developing and executing social media strategies, overseeing content creation, and building relationships with internal stakeholders and influencers to enhance the brand's presence on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube. The position requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership skills, and the ability to adapt to emerging trends in social media.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and oversee all social media efforts across the company including General RV's corporate channels and local channels for its dealerships.
  • Oversee a team to curate, manage, and own the social editorial content calendars for always-on and activations for social media campaigns and events.
  • Refine and develop a social media strategy that will increase brand awareness and push our followers/customers through the sales funnel.
  • Act as a senior strategic counselor on social media to internal key stakeholders across Marketing, Recruiting, Fixed Operations, Sales, and Ownership teams.
  • Oversee day-to-day posting and content aggregation across all General RV social media platforms.
  • Collaborate and facilitate with the General RV content team to create video, photography, and graphic design assets.
  • Refine existing KPI dashboards, develop thoughtful insights, and adapt the content strategy according to emerging trends.
  • Manage all social editorial calendars, support content planning workflows, uncover insights and develop recommendations to execute across the company's social channels.
  • Work closely with the paid team to ensure key messaging and initiatives are incorporated into the social calendar.
  • Generate new ideas to engage and grow vibrant, healthy communities on our social channels.
  • Support and counsel Social Customer Care team (as needed) on digital care strategy, process, and performance.
  • Stay up to date on platform audience behaviors, interactive trends, best practices, and digital experiences with an eye toward social communities and their behaviors.
  • Create and document best practices, social playbooks, and how-to's for social & community management, including workflows, tools, and responsibilities.
  • Work in a highly collaborative environment across all levels of the organization, but reflecting a level of independence to take initiative and move projects forward.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in social media, marketing, or advertising in a corporate or agency setting.
  • Possess the ability to be extremely detail-oriented and understand the intricacies of social platforms, bringing social-first thinking to the table, and recognizing real-time opportunities and social trends.
  • Ability to engage with and counsel senior level decision-makers across stakeholders businesses, and deliver connective insight to assist with business partners in driving alignment and execution of cross-company initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects/people and delegate work as well as identify skills required to complete it in a dynamic, matrix environment.
  • Deep understanding of how brands can leverage the social media landscape to attract and engage a community.
  • Expertise in the professional business use of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube).
  • Possess awareness and bring forth the best practices in the importance of social media's ever-evolving nature.
  • Experience building relationships and working with diverse stakeholders effectively.
  • Team leadership experience is necessary, including management of teams.
  • A strong team orientation is critical based on collaborative culture of the office and GRV as a company.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results and communicate with others.
  • Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year accredited university.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work well under pressure in order to hit deadlines.
  • Requires strong written and verbal communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Requires excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • A proven ability to develop compelling, insight-based strategic proposals and present them effectively and persuasively.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and review project workflows, processes, and expenses.
