About the position

The Social Media Manager at the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) is responsible for creating, implementing, and maintaining a robust online presence for the organization through strategic management of social media accounts. This full-time position requires a proactive approach to developing and executing social media marketing campaigns that enhance the PRCA's visibility and engagement with fans. The manager will oversee all day-to-day postings and activities across various social platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. The role involves not only content creation but also the analysis and improvement of social marketing efforts based on performance metrics and audience engagement. In this position, the Social Media Manager will collaborate with a team to produce innovative and entertaining content that aligns with the PRCA's brand voice and tone. The manager will stay updated on emerging social media trends and best practices, integrating new opportunities into the PRCA's social media strategy. Engaging with followers and moderating user-generated content is essential to foster a positive online community. The manager will also work closely with sponsors, partners, and media teams to promote live events and ticket sales through effective social media campaigns. The role requires the ability to create initiatives that promote PRCA events and athletes, thereby increasing publicity and interest in the sport of rodeo. The Social Media Manager will monitor benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media programs, analyze campaign effectiveness, and provide reports to leadership on performance indicators. Additionally, the manager will travel to select rodeos to produce live content, including interviews with cowboys and PRCA members, and will be responsible for creating and editing videos for various digital platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day posting, planning, and community management of PRCA's official social media accounts.
  • Create innovative, entertaining, and original content for multiple platforms.
  • Evolve the established voice and tone of the PRCA brand to promote positive fan engagement.
  • Stay updated on emerging social media trends and integrate new opportunities into PRCA's social presence.
  • Moderate user-generated content and engage with followers across platforms.
  • Work with sponsors, partners, and media teams to promote live events and ticket sales through social media.
  • Create initiatives to promote PRCA events and athletes to increase publicity.
  • Collaborate with Graphic Designer, Content Creator, and editorial staff to showcase PRCA's uniqueness.
  • Monitor benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media programs and analyze campaign effectiveness.
  • Provide reports on performance indicators to leadership.
  • Coordinate social media campaigns integrated into PRCA's strategic marketing plans.
  • Travel to select rodeos to produce live content and interviews.
  • Create and edit videos for social media and digital platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, or a similar field.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in social media management or marketing.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign).
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok).
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics, keyword research, and SEO techniques.
  • Excellent grammar and spelling skills.
  • High level of communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong decision-making skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Ability to travel as required.
