About the position

The Social Media Manager oversees PMMI's interactions with the industry through social media strategy on multiple platforms and integrating PMMI's podcast and video content. This position requires a passion for social media and a proven ability to create and lead social media strategy and execution. The social media manager will also have experience and enthusiasm for broader tactics including paid social media, apps, websites, and more. Key responsibilities include analyzing engagement data, identifying trends in customer interactions, and planning digital campaigns (both paid and organic) to increase awareness of our brands and build our community online. The role involves developing and implementing a corporate social media strategy as well as strategies for trade shows and events. The manager will create engaging content to enhance social media presence and interaction while ensuring brand consistency in copy through tone, voice, and terminology. Daily management of social media campaigns is essential, along with creating actionable plans to grow and maintain followers across popular platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok. The manager will also oversee paid social media campaigns, manage the digital marketing campaign promoting PMMI's Podcast, and support video and podcast executions as necessary. Additionally, the Social Media Manager will oversee the creation and implementation of a monthly social media calendar for both the association (PMMI) and its trade shows (PACK EXPO). Staying updated on social media trends and informing management of relevant changes to marketing activities is crucial. Setting key performance indicators (KPIs) for social media campaigns, supervising all aspects of social media interaction, and ensuring a positive image and consistent brand messaging are also key duties. The role requires proficiency in tools like Photoshop or Canva to create imagery for social posts and campaigns, along with providing monthly and quarterly reports for various teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a corporate social media strategy as well as a strategy for trade shows and events.
  • Create engaging content to increase social media presence and interaction.
  • Ensure brand consistency in copy through tone, voice, and terminology.
  • Oversee day-to-day management of social media campaigns and ensure brand consistency.
  • Create actionable plans to grow and maintain followers through popular social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok.
  • Manage paid social media campaigns, e.g., on LinkedIn for various internal departments.
  • Manage the digital marketing campaign promoting PMMI's Podcast.
  • Support the video and podcast executions as necessary.
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of a monthly social media calendar for both the association (PMMI) and our trade shows (PACK EXPO).
  • Stay on top of social media trends and inform management of changes that are relevant to the company's marketing activities.
  • Set key performance indicators (KPIs) for social media campaigns, such as targets for a certain number of shares or likes and measuring a campaign's performance against the KPIs.
  • Supervise all aspects of social media interaction between members, industry stakeholders, customers, and the company, and ensure a positive image and consistent brand messaging.
  • Use Photoshop or Canva to create imagery for social posts and campaigns.
  • Provide monthly reports for trade show marketing team, quarterly reports for Business Intelligence, Work Force and PMMI marketing team.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in social media management or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, journalism, public relations, or related field.
  • Excellent communication and copywriting skills.
  • Hands-on experience in content management.
  • Ability to deliver creative content (text, image, video) specific and appropriate to each channel.
  • Proficient using multi-social posting programs such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, and HubSpot.
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites.
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Familiarity with web design.
  • Relevant experience determining a target audience and how to cater unique marketing campaigns to capture their attention.
  • Understanding of marketing strategy and how to utilize these concepts through various forms of outreach.
  • Knowledge of online marketing channels; ability to select the appropriate channel for each audience or campaign goal.
  • Understanding of both paid and organic social media strategies to achieve campaign goals (LinkedIn).
  • Excellent project management and organization skills.
  • Ability to prioritize large volumes of projects and effectively see them through to conclusion.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of employees, at all levels, and work toward our goals.
