About the position

The Social Media Manager will be responsible for leading Perplexity's social media strategy, creating high-quality content, and expanding the brand's reach to new audiences. This role requires a blend of creativity, brand awareness, and storytelling skills to enhance Perplexity's social media presence and engage with its passionate user base.

Responsibilities

• Build and execute a strategy across social channels that highlights the Perplexity product, business, community, and team.
• Lead day-to-day operations across all channels: social calendar management, original content creation, and production coordination.
• Spearhead the social component of launches/projects alongside our Product, Partnership, Growth, Business, Comms, and Community teams.
• Partner with our Brand and Design teams to produce beautiful social visuals.
• Own our core brand channels-X, LinkedIn, and Instagram-from end-to-end.
• Ideate and experiment on channels that we've yet to crack: TikTok and YouTube.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience growing a brand's social media presence.
• Strong communication and task management skills to navigate complex projects.
• Familiarity with social analytics and reporting, balancing taste and metrics to inform social strategy.
• Experience with creative tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and Figma.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in social copywriting that demonstrates the ability to internalize and adapt brand voice to different channels.
• Portfolio showcasing high-quality visual content created independently or in partnership with designers and creatives.
• Ability to design and implement social strategy for major launches, projects, or campaigns.
