About the position

S.H.A.R.E. Community Development Corp (SCDC) is seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal in developing and executing our social media strategy, aimed at enhancing brand awareness and fostering a vibrant online community. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating engaging content that resonates with our audience and drives engagement and follower growth across various social media platforms. The Social Media Manager will work closely with our marketing and content creation teams to ensure that our social media efforts align with our overall marketing campaigns and business goals. In this position, you will be tasked with managing our social media accounts, including but not limited to LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter/X, Pinterest, and TikTok. You will independently create and curate visually appealing content, including graphics, photos, and videos, while also crafting relevant copy to accompany this content. Community engagement is a key aspect of this role; you will monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner, fostering a positive online community by engaging with followers, influencers, and industry partners. Additionally, you will utilize analytics tools to track performance and optimize content strategies based on data insights. Staying current with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices is essential to keep SCDC's social media presence innovative and fresh. This is an individual contributor role, requiring daily in-office work at our downtown Houston headquarters, and the candidate must represent SCDC with the highest degree of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy and content calendar aligned with SCDC's brand identity and business goals.
  • Post engaging, high-quality content including graphics, photos, videos, and copy provided by content creators.
  • Independently create and curate engaging and visually appealing content.
  • Create relevant copy for video, graphic, or photographic content.
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Foster a positive and active online community by engaging with followers, influencers, and industry partners.
  • Utilize analytics tools to track performance and optimize content and strategies based on data insights.
  • Work closely with marketing and content creation teams to align social media efforts with overall marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with influencers and brand ambassadors to create authentic and impactful User Generated Content (UGC).
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and analytics tools.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite) and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Insights).
  • Proven experience managing social media accounts for companies or enterprises.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including effective presentation and listening skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Creative mindset with a keen eye for aesthetics and detail.
  • Basic graphic design and video editing skills are a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred but relevant experience accepted in lieu of education.
