About the position

The Social Media Manager at Sway will play a crucial role in managing and enhancing the online presence of various brands. This position involves creating engaging content, particularly short-form videos for platforms like TikTok and Instagram, while also collaborating with clients and team members to execute effective social media strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of social media trends and a passion for creative content creation.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members and clients on set to capture photo and video content
  • Create unexpected, original TikTok and IG content, with a focus on TikTok
  • Build and execute content calendars
  • Manage Pinterest accounts, driving traffic to brand websites and socials
  • Work with paid ads team to provide creative content for paid social assets
  • Manage community moderation and engagement
  • Prepare and present weekly and monthly social media reports with data-driven insights and recommendations to optimize performance on social media
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of the brand's voice, product, customer, and preferences
  • Manage client timelines and calendars
  • Handle content and launch logistics and details to skillfully and reliably deliver a smooth process
  • Perform miscellaneous projects as assigned
  • Effectively communicate internally and externally in a manner consistent with the company's requirements
  • Protect confidential and proprietary information with great discretion
  • Must be able and willing to work during non-business hours as needed or required to fulfill job requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Mass Communications, Marketing, or a related field
  • 3+ years experience conceptualizing, shooting and editing short-form video content, or managing social media platforms, for a brand or a creator
  • Strong understanding of relevant TikTok and IG trends and practices
  • Ability to source trends, especially for TikTok
  • Strong video and photo editing skills
  • Ability to curate a grid that is aligned with brand identity
  • Advanced knowledge of photography, with a strong understanding of framing, lighting, and industry terminology
  • Highly organized
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to independently move projects forward and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Ability to think ahead, anticipate challenges, respond quickly and problem-solve
  • Proficient in the use of Google Suite (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Docs)
