About the position

Lawelawe Defense Inc is seeking a Social Media Manager who will play a crucial role in developing and operating a website and its associated mobile application. This position is integral to ensuring that the content aligns with government requirements and adheres to industry standards while being sensitive to regional and local cultural and social norms. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese, which is essential for effective communication and outreach in diverse communities. As the Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining situational awareness of U.S. policy and events within the SOUTHCOM area of responsibility. This includes staying updated on current developments in the region to coordinate and direct content selection for websites and apps effectively. You will manage the social media pages associated with the website, conducting assessments to ensure that all content is appropriate and ready for publication. Your role will also involve performing quality checks on submitted work, monitoring feature and word counts, and making recommendations to enhance customer satisfaction while adhering to budget constraints. Additionally, you will contribute to periodic reviews and reports as requested by the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) and advise customers on emerging web trends. Monitoring the growth of internet technologies within the SOUTHCOM area will be part of your responsibilities, allowing you to make informed recommendations for technological improvements to the websites. This position requires a proactive approach to social media management, ensuring that all content is engaging and meets the needs of the audience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and operate a website and associated mobile application (App) in accordance with government requirements.
  • Maintain situational awareness of U.S. policy and events in the SOUTHCOM area of responsibility.
  • Manage the website's associated social media pages/sites for each existing website.
  • Conduct social media assessments and perform quality checks on submitted work.
  • Ensure all site content has been approved and monitor feature and word counts.
  • Make recommendations to achieve high customer satisfaction within site content budget constraints.
  • Contribute to periodic reviews and reports as requested by the COR.
  • Advise customers regarding emerging web trends and monitor the growth of internet technologies.
  • Make recommendations for technological improvements to websites.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a U.S. Passport.
  • Active Secret security clearance required.
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience managing social media accounts for brands or organizations.
  • Track record of growing audience engagement and driving results through high-quality social media campaigns.
  • Working knowledge of social media analytics and scheduling tools.
  • Clear, confident communication abilities to craft engaging content.
  • Current experience utilizing social media tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience working in the J39 supporting Information Operations.
  • Prior experience managing social media accounts, including government content.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, One Note, SharePoint, and Teams.
