About the position

Apex is seeking a Social Media Manager for an Education Technology company to manage and grow social media channels, create strategies and campaigns, and engage with players on social media platforms. This remote, 18-month contract role offers the opportunity to work closely with the Minecraft franchise, allowing for creative freedom within a structured framework.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow social media channels
• Create social media strategies and campaigns
• Engage with players on social media platforms
• Lead content creation and manage content calendars
• Draft copy and monitor engagement with followers
• Report on social metrics and insights
• Collaborate with business, marketing, community, and product teams
• Refine existing social media strategy to resonate with a diverse audience
• Define channel priorities and set goals aligned with business objectives
• Create campaigns in partnership with Minecraft Education Marketing and Microsoft Education
• Host content ideation and team brainstorms
• Generate and publish social content daily
• Curate user-generated content and identify potential influencers
• Provide strategic recommendations for the Minecraft Creative Team
• Track and report on channel and content performance

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in social media strategy planning and implementation
• Experience managing high volume social media channels for well-known brands
• Experience in the gaming sector preferred
• Passion for education and social impact
• Understanding of community engagement and audience strategy
• Familiarity with data-driven strategy adjustments
• Excellent collaboration, copywriting, and communication skills
• Competent with Office 365 and analytics tools (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, etc.)
