About the position

The Social Media Manager at iHeartMedia will oversee the social media strategy for key iHeartRadio stations in Los Angeles. This role focuses on enhancing digital listening, follower engagement, and brand recognition while driving overall growth. The ideal candidate will manage content across various platforms, coordinate with on-air personalities, and respond to music and pop culture events to attract new fans. A flexible schedule is required, as work may extend to nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain a regular posting schedule of content across key Los Angeles station social media accounts.
  • Coordinate with various departments and guide on-air personalities to maximize listening opportunities through social channels.
  • Respond to music and pop culture events to introduce new fans to the iHeartRadio ecosystem.
  • Track social media analytics to evaluate prior campaigns and inform future strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Program Director to develop plans for increasing digital listening and social engagement.
  • Oversee all social media touchpoints for music fandoms, including new releases and social-first campaigns.
  • Work with on-air talent to localize and personalize content for station social platforms.
  • Cover local LA-station events and national iHeartRadio events, capturing and posting real-time content.
  • Write and edit compelling social media copy to engage fans.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in social media or digital marketing, preferably in the entertainment or music industries.
  • Affinity for Alternative and Hot AC music, along with an understanding of the lifestyles and voice of each genre.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and meet deadlines.
  • In-depth knowledge of social media best practices, tools, and trends across various platforms.
  • Strong writing, proofreading, and copyediting skills.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva.

  • Experience with sponsored/partner content protocols.
  • Ability to create content on the fly during events.
