About the position

The Social Media Manager plays a crucial role within the North American marketing and communications team at IDEX. This position is primarily responsible for creating engaging social media content, with a strong emphasis on video production, and distributing this content across various social media platforms. The Social Media Manager acts as the community manager, serving as the primary point of contact for social media followers and technology solution early adopters, such as SAM, BOOST, E3 Connect, and Captium users. The overarching goal of this role is to amplify the story of IDEX's family of brands and engage with followers as they interact with the content. In alignment with targeted growth initiatives that support business objectives, the Social Media Manager champions social funnel marketing. This involves expanding the reach of IDEX's social content, directing visitors to IDEX's website, and nurturing these prospects into qualified leads. The role requires a strategic mindset to manage and oversee all social media content, ensuring that the broader marketing and content strategy is effectively implemented across social media channels. The Social Media Manager will also be responsible for planning, developing, and managing the social media strategy for the IDEX Fire and Safety Group. This includes creating and managing a content calendar, participating in visual design strategies, and staying updated with the latest social media best practices and trends. Collaboration with various departments, such as product management, sales, engineering, finance, and operations, is essential to ensure cohesive messaging and branding across all platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all social media content.
  • Implement the broader IDEX Fire & Safety marketing and content strategy on social media channels.
  • Plan, develop, implement, and manage the social media strategy to increase online presence and brand awareness.
  • Create and manage the social media content calendar for each brand.
  • Participate in visual design strategies and support brand identity development.
  • Stay current with social media best practices, technologies, and trends.
  • Identify opportunities for adapting social media strategies as technology evolves.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as product management, sales, engineering, finance, and operations.
  • Serve as a copywriter for social media content, ensuring brand voice consistency.
  • Engage with customers and target audiences through direct messages and posts.
  • Educate IDEX Fire & Safety employees on amplifying social media posts.
  • Manage outside resources such as graphic designers and video production teams.
  • Define key performance indicators for social media in collaboration with marketing leadership.
  • Measure the success of social media campaigns and analyze data for actionable insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • 5 years of related experience in a B2B environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated interest and competency in social media marketing and video production.
  • Proficiency in video/audio production and post-production editing.
  • Experience with web-based project management software.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Outlook and Teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly for social media.
  • Ability to generate new creative ideas and communicate project scopes effectively.
  • Experience in a tech-related field, particularly with new product technology, is a plus.
  • Knowledge of video production best practices is essential.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
