About the position

The Social Media Manager is responsible for managing multiple social media platforms for three respective brands. This role encompasses a variety of social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Pinterest. The Social Media Manager will develop, present, and implement comprehensive social media strategies tailored for all active platforms. A significant part of this role involves content creation, which includes compiling monthly content calendars that feature both visuals and copywriting. The manager will be responsible for posting all approved content, boosting posts to reach targeted audiences, and engaging in daily community management. In addition to content management, the Social Media Manager will monitor industry trends and keep a close eye on competitors to ensure the brands remain competitive in the social media landscape. Reporting is also a key component of this position, as the manager will be responsible for analyzing and presenting data and analytics related to social media performance. The Social Media Manager will supervise and maintain all social media-related tasks for the brands, requiring a sound knowledge and experience to take ownership and accountability for the organization’s social media activities. The Media Department is structured around seven Media Pillars: Strategies, Brand Collateral, Media Publicity, Social Media, Public Forums, Direct Marketing, and Internal Communications. While the primary focus will be on Social Media, the Social Media Manager will also engage with other Media Pillars as needed. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing creative social media strategies, assisting in budget forecasting, conducting competitor analysis, copywriting for social media posts, managing a content library, creating engaging multimedia content, compiling monthly social media calendars, and reporting on performance metrics. The role also involves understanding the annual public forums schedule to align social media posts with relevant events and educating staff on effective social media use within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, present, and implement creative and engaging social media strategies for all brands across multiple channels.
  • Assist Head of Media in compiling annual social media budget forecasts and monitor social media spend.
  • Track industry news and trends, staying up to date with the latest social media best practices and technology.
  • Analyze competitor activity and report back on findings.
  • Set targets to increase brand awareness and following for all brands across multiple channels.
  • Copywrite all captions for social media posts and campaigns.
  • Develop and manage a system for a content library.
  • Create engaging multimedia content for all brands across multiple channels.
  • Understand all brands' press schedules to tie in relevant social posts to current campaigns.
  • Be aware of all recent media coverage to creatively tie in with multiple channels.
  • Compile monthly calendars for all brands across multiple channels and obtain Directors' approval.
  • Review and analyze strategies, constantly researching new social media ideas and campaigns.
  • Schedule and post monthly approved content.
  • Handle all day-to-day conversations and respond to communities in a timely manner.
  • Create boosting strategies to identify the best target audiences for multiple channels.
  • Compile quarterly social media reports, monitoring, tracking, analyzing, and reporting on performance of all brands across multiple channels.
  • Understand the annual public forums schedule to tie in relevant social posts with events, awards, and expos.
  • Compile quarterly social media results for the quarterly magazine and educate staff on social media use within the company.

Requirements

  • Marketing Degree / Diploma essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of WordPress, Meltwater, Hootsuite, Iconosquare, Deltek Vision, Microsoft Power BI, Google Analytics, and Mailchimp is beneficial.
  • Passion for media and marketing.
