About the position

Zimmer Communications is expanding its team and is in search of a Social Media Manager to join our Columbia office. This role is pivotal in strategically enhancing our clients' social media presence and engagement. The Social Media Manager will work closely with our dynamic social media team, where creativity and fun are at the forefront of our marketing strategies. The ideal candidate will not only manage social media initiatives but also inspire and lead a team of specialists and interns, fostering an environment of collaboration and innovation. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive social media strategies that align with our clients' goals. This includes conducting competitive research, determining the most effective platforms, and identifying target audiences. You will generate, edit, and publish engaging content daily, including original text, images, and videos, to build meaningful connections with community members and encourage their active participation. Additionally, you will moderate user-generated content according to established community guidelines and create editorial calendars to ensure a consistent and strategic content flow. Your role will also involve analyzing social media metrics and insights to continuously improve our strategies. Collaborating with clients to review analytics and refine social media approaches will be essential. Furthermore, you will work with various Zimmer properties to enhance brand visibility and provide training to associates, ensuring that our marketing efforts are cohesive and effective.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, train, and lead a team of 2 other social media specialists and interns as needed.
  • Work with the director of sales to set department revenue growth objectives.
  • Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification.
  • Generate, edit, and publish daily content (original text, images, video) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action.
  • Moderate all user-generated content in line with the moderation policy for each community, when applicable.
  • Create editorial calendars and syndication schedules.
  • Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information.
  • Collaborate with client to go over analytics and finalize strategy for social platforms.
  • Work with Zimmer properties to help grow our brands and train our associates.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of the following platforms: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
  • Extensive experience with paid social media buying.
  • Proven working experience in social media marketing or as a digital media specialist.
  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills.
  • Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge.
  • Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability.
  • Video production experience is preferred.
  • BS in Communications, Marketing, Business, New Media or Public Relations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with video production.
  • Familiarity with social media analytics tools.
