About the position

Uwajimaya is seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media Marketing Manager to join our team and help us grow our online presence and lead our social media marketing efforts. This role is pivotal in developing social and influencer strategies and creative content that will engage new and existing customers, ultimately driving customer acquisition, retention, and engagement. The Social Media Marketing Manager will be responsible for directing all social media activities, ensuring that they align with Uwajimaya's brand voice and marketing goals. The successful candidate will develop integrated social media strategies that enhance brand visibility and advocacy for Uwajimaya. This includes managing a broad strategy and setting standards for social media marketing. The individual will be expected to create and implement shareable content that is creative, attention-getting, and on-brand. Collaboration with marketing, retail, and category management teams is essential to ensure that social media plans are effectively integrated into overall marketing efforts. Additionally, the role will leverage any potential earned and owned media opportunities to maximize reach and engagement. Key responsibilities include owning the development of a strategic social media marketing plan, managing campaign execution and social calendar, and overseeing the associated budget across campaigns and channels. The manager will lead the development and execution of various content forms, including video, text, and imagery, across key platforms such as Meta, TikTok, and YouTube. They will also be responsible for identifying and collaborating with influencers to enhance brand visibility and reach targeted audiences. Regular analysis of social media metrics and KPIs will be conducted to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement. Staying updated on social media and food trends is crucial to ensure that Uwajimaya's approach remains fresh and relevant.

Responsibilities

  • Own the development of a strategic social media marketing plan.
  • Manage campaign execution and social calendar, and its associated budget across campaigns and channels.
  • Lead the development and execution of content forms, including video, text, still imagery, and live action.
  • Work collaboratively with Uwajimaya teams across Retail to develop and execute creative ideas, plans, and strategies.
  • Develop and curate engaging content that aligns with the company's mission and values.
  • Provide inspirational, creative, and thought leadership on ways to reach target audiences.
  • Identify, engage, and collaborate with Influencers, managing outreach and negotiations.
  • Conduct regular analysis of social media metrics and KPIs to assess campaign effectiveness.
  • Stay up to date and monitor social media and food trends.
  • Train and develop content creators and community manager on content that meets brand guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Social Media marketing or Marketing.
  • Proven experience in managing social media for a consumer brand, with a strong portfolio of successful campaigns.
  • Passion for Asian foods, products, and services.
  • Strong ability to develop and execute brand strategies.
  • Demonstrated understanding of social media platforms and their unique audiences.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer) and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Insights).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and creativity.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in computer applications (Word, PowerPoint) and social media platforms.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel and work flexible hours.
