About the position

The Social Media Video Editor at Madewell will play a crucial role in producing creative assets for the brand's organic social media channels. This position requires a mastery of Adobe Creative Suite applications and a strong skill set in multimedia content creation, including video, still photography, and graphic design. The ideal candidate will possess strong storytelling capabilities and be well-versed in current content trends, particularly on platforms like Instagram and TikTok. As a self-starter, the candidate should be comfortable both generating innovative ideas and executing them effectively. In this role, the Social Media Video Editor will be responsible for shooting and editing impactful, social-first content tailored for Instagram, TikTok, and other emerging social channels. The candidate will need to execute innovative social media concepts specifically for TikTok and Instagram Reels, demonstrating expertise in working with mixed media for Instagram Reels and Stories. Excellent communication skills are essential, as the role involves collaboration with both the internal creative team and external vendors. Experience in videography and editing for social content using iPhone or cinema cameras is a must, along with familiarity with industry-standard software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and Frame.io. The Social Media Video Editor will work closely with an in-house team of art directors and producers, reporting directly to the Art Director. This collaborative environment fosters creativity and innovation, making it an exciting opportunity for those looking to make a significant impact in the realm of social media content creation.

Responsibilities

  • Shoot and edit impactful, social-first content for both Instagram, TikTok, and other emerging social channels
  • Execute innovative social media concepts for TikTok and Instagram Reels
  • Work with mixed media for Instagram Reels and Stories (stills, design, video) while utilizing standard industry software and practices
  • Communicate effectively and work in cooperation with both internal creative team and external vendors
  • Utilize Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and Frame.io for content creation
  • Shoot on cinema cameras and other on-set equipment as needed
  • Engage in photography and light retouching as required

Requirements

  • 2-3+ years of content experience in an ad/brand/social agency setting
  • Portfolio with relevant work examples
  • Collaborative spirit and strong storytelling skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet project deadlines
  • Ability to adapt and manage multiple projects, shoots, and priorities

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience shooting on cinema cameras and other on-set equipment
  • Experience with photography and light retouching
