About the position

The Social Needs & Health IT Project Manager (Project Manager 3) at the Oregon Health Authority is responsible for developing and overseeing complex project plans related to Health Information Technology (HIT), Community Information Exchange (CIE), and social needs services. This full-time management position involves tracking project efforts, managing risks, and ensuring successful project execution across multiple teams. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders and maintaining subject matter expertise to navigate project complexities effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee comprehensive project plans for HIT and social needs initiatives.
  • Track project efforts, document progress, and maintain schedules.
  • Manage risks and issues from project initiation through closure.
  • Oversee programmatic activities related to CIE and HIT projects.
  • Train staff on project management systems and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams to manage competing timelines and priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, or a closely related field AND four years of professional-level experience; OR Project Management Professional Certification and two years of experience; OR Six years of professional-level experience with an Oregon Project Management Associate Certification; OR Seven years of professional-level experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of project management principles and methods.
  • Experience in IT and non-IT project management related to health care systems and analytics.
  • Knowledge of change management principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience in advancing health equity and addressing systemic health disparities.
  • Ability to apply anti-racist and trauma-informed practices to project management.
  • Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution and collaboration.
