About the position

The Social Science Research Analyst position within the Bureau of the Fiscal Service focuses on conducting program evaluations, studies, and analyses to support funding requests and performance improvement initiatives. The role involves designing research studies, coordinating with various stakeholders, interpreting data, and preparing reports to inform agency policies and practices.

Responsibilities

• Support the evaluation planning process by updating the learning agenda and annual evaluation plan.
• Design studies, including formulating research questions, project objectives, and data collection strategies.
• Coordinate with Fiscal Service and other entities on research/evaluation and performance management.
• Serve as a liaison with experts and stakeholders to promote understanding of study findings.
• Interpret data and findings to inform agency initiatives and policies.
• Prepare papers to convey study findings for professional use.

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level in the Federal service, including leading program evaluations and performing qualitative and quantitative analyses.
• Experience in developing presentations and briefings to present evaluation results and recommendations.
• A bachelor's degree in behavioral or social science or related disciplines, or a combination of education and experience equivalent to a major in the field.

Nice-to-haves

• Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant field.
• Experience in conducting literature reviews and summarizing findings.
