About the position
The Social Science Research Program Manager at Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts (PPLM) is responsible for coordinating and implementing research studies focused on abortion, contraception, and sexual and reproductive health. This role involves working closely with principal investigators, external collaborators, and supervising research assistants. The position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and effective communication with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures and plans for social science research projects.
- Assist principal investigators with the development of research materials and documentation.
- Provide training and daily supervision for research assistants and interns.
- Track and report study expenditures to the principal investigator and Director of Research Operations.
- Participate in recruitment of study participants and maintain administrative systems for subject confidentiality.
- Export and clean quantitative data, and support grant writing and manuscript preparation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; master's degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of research experience with a bachelor's degree or 2 years with a master's degree.
- Strong quantitative skills and experience with statistical software (R, Stata, SAS).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to reproductive health and anti-racist research practices.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience programming databases in Qualtrics or REDCap.
- Experience working with human subjects.
- Experience managing direct reports.
