Employment and Human Services Department is recruiting to fill one (1) position for a Social Service Employment Placement Counselor.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively conveying information to job seekers, employers, and stakeholders
  • Keeping up with evolving skills demands in different industries
  • Analyzing labor market information to make informed recommendations
  • Connecting job seekers with employment opportunities
  • Engaging with employers to understand hiring needs
  • Identifying opportunities for training and employment

Requirements

  • Possession of a Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university with a major in sociology, psychology, social work, or a closely related field with an emphasis in vocational or rehabilitation counseling
  • One year of full-time experience in job placement, vocational training, counseling, or job solicitation, with direct responsibility for the job placement of youths or adults with employment related problems
  • Candidates must possess and maintain throughout the duration of employment a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License
