About the position

The Social Services Project Coordinator will oversee special projects within the Albany County Social Services Department, aimed at enhancing program efficiency and compliance with federal and state guidelines. This role involves analyzing various social service programs, developing workflow processes, and training staff to ensure effective service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct special projects assigned by the Department Head to improve program efficiency.
  • Analyze and evaluate social service programs such as Temporary Assistance, SNAP, HEAP, Adult Protective, Child Support, and Fair Hearings.
  • Document current workflow processes and revise or develop new ones as needed.
  • Assist in identifying and developing short and long-term plans for program efficiencies.
  • Train staff on new processes and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor ongoing processes to ensure adherence to laws, rules, and regulations.

Requirements

  • Master's degree with two years of experience in program analysis, including one year in a supervisory role; OR
  • Bachelor's degree with three years of experience in program analysis, including one year in a supervisory role; OR
  • Associate's degree with four years of experience in program analysis, including one year in a supervisory role.
  • Possession of a valid NYS driver's license is required.
