About The Position

The Social Services Worker 2 - Intake Caseworker position at Coshocton County Job & Family Services is responsible for managing child abuse, neglect, and dependency cases from initiation through the first 45 days or until closure. The role focuses on ensuring child safety by assessing risks and providing necessary interventions. The position involves home visits, collaboration with community partners, court testimonies, and thorough documentation of case files to meet state mandates.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in human services-related studies, or
• A bachelor's degree in any field with at least two years of employment in a human services occupation, or
• An associate degree in human services-related studies, or
• At least five years of employment in a human services-related occupation.

Responsibilities

• Receive and respond to requests, referrals, or complaints regarding child welfare.
• Investigate complaints and evaluate information to determine appropriate actions.
• Document and maintain client/case files in compliance with state mandates.
• Conduct face-to-face interviews with children, parents/caregivers, and alleged perpetrators.
• Ensure the safety, permanency, and well-being of children involved in cases.
• Implement necessary safety interventions when applicable.
