About the position

The Social Studies Teacher - Long Term Substitute position at Danbury Public Schools is responsible for the intellectual, social, and emotional development of middle school students. The teacher will ensure that classroom programs and materials are free from bias and discrimination, adhering to Title IX and Affirmative Action policies. This role involves direct reporting to the Principal and is evaluated based on established teaching competencies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the educational needs of students.
• Ensure classroom materials and practices are free from gender and minority bias.
• Evaluate and assess student progress and provide feedback.

Requirements

• Must possess or be eligible for Social Studies Connecticut certification.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to deliver content effectively.
• Ability to relate successfully with staff, families, and students from diverse backgrounds.
• Demonstrated ability to implement differentiated instruction.
