About the position
The position involves assessing patients and their families to arrange necessary interventions for social, emotional, economic, and environmental challenges. The role includes planning short-term treatment for mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders, as well as addictions. The social worker will participate in case reviews, consult with healthcare teams, assist with discharge planning, and provide referrals to appropriate resources. Additionally, the position requires administering tests to diagnose various disorders and supervising or training new staff and interns.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and/or their families and arrange for needed interventions.
- Plan interventions to help patients cope with social, emotional, economic, and environmental problems.
- Provide short-term treatment planning for mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders, conditions, and addictions.
- Participate in case reviews to evaluate care management and progress toward goals.
- Consult with healthcare team members to promote, monitor, and evaluate compliance with the patient's treatment plan.
- Assist with discharge planning and processes.
- Identify appropriate resources and provide referrals as part of the discharge plan.
- Administer and interpret tests and measures of psychosocial functioning for diagnosing disorders and disabilities.
- Supervise and/or train new staff, lower-level social workers, students, or interns.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
- Current State Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise critical thinking skills.
