About the position

The Social Work Program and Research Assistant will assist the Social Work Program with coordinating licensure workshops, summer training workshops, and the annual Advocacy Day Conference. The student worker may also assist faculty with research related to grief, loss, and trauma-informed care, data entry and analysis, and other program-related clerical activities and duties as assigned. The position requires some state travel to conferences to represent the program, manage the conference hospitality booth, and organize events.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with workshops by greeting and registering attendees, running errands, setting up displays, distributing materials, operating audio/visual equipment, arranging meeting spaces.
  • Perform data entry, analyze data, and create reports.
  • Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, taking messages, responding to email requests, scheduling meetings, making Xerox copies, filing, and organizing the office.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills: effective written and verbal communications skills and customer service acumen.
  • Excellent organization and coordination skills.
  • Available for day and overnight travel; personal transportation preferred.
  • PC skills with proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to find and correct errors.

Nice-to-haves

  • Drivers's license; favorable driving record and personal auto insurance preferred.
