About the position

The Family Reunification Team Leader at Wellspring Lutheran Services plays a crucial role in supporting families and children in need throughout Wayne County. This position involves leading a team of social workers to implement a strength-based, solution-focused approach to family reunification, ensuring that families receive the necessary resources and support for lasting change. The Team Leader will coordinate treatment plans, provide therapeutic interventions, and maintain flexible availability to meet the needs of families.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the Family Reunification Program model of service (strength-based, solution focused approach).
  • Develop treatment plans, goals, and activities with the family and Family Worker.
  • Coordinate the implementation of the treatment plan with assigned Family Workers.
  • Provide professional therapeutic intervention sessions with families or individual family members based on their needs.
  • Provide skills training in areas such as parental resilience, social connections, child development, and nurturing.
  • Refer families to community services including Early On, domestic violence, and mental health counseling as needed.
  • Prepare reports in conjunction with the Family Worker, including service plans and progress reports.
  • Document the use of solution-focused interviewing techniques and positive, empowering language in communication with families.
  • Prepare for and present testimony as needed for court.
  • Plan and develop quarterly workshop ideas and family activities.
  • Maintain face-to-face contact with families according to contract-defined frequency and individual needs.
  • Complete follow-up evaluations of families at 6 and 12 months.
  • Transport clients in your own vehicle.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work or a related human services field.
  • Experience working with children and families.
  • Ability to develop treatment plans and coordinate with Family Workers.
  • Strong communication skills for documentation and family interaction.

  • Experience in therapeutic intervention and skills training.
  • Familiarity with community resources for families.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and maintain availability.
