About The Position

The Social Worker 3 or 4 position focuses on providing Functional Family Therapy (FFT) within the Child Welfare system. The role involves working with families and youth who are at risk of child abuse and neglect, providing community-based services, and ensuring continuity of care. The position requires travel throughout Tangipahoa, St. Helena, and Livingston Parishes, and may involve non-traditional work hours, including weekends.

Requirements

• A master's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work.
• Two years of professional level social services experience.
• Possession of Licensure as a Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) by the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners.

Responsibilities

• Provide Functional Family Therapy-Child Welfare (FFT-CW) for youth and families involved in the criminal justice system and child welfare programs.
• Complete comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and treatment plans for families.
• Deliver treatment via the FFT-CW model and prepare discharge plans as needed.
• Collaborate with Peer Support Specialists, Case Management, and Care Coordination for families requiring additional support.
• Attend annual and PRN trainings to improve competency in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health and substance use disorders.
• Prepare and send progress reports to social service agencies and referral sources.
