About the position

The Social Worker 3 or 4 (Therapist/Counselor) position at the Bogalusa Behavioral Health Clinic involves providing advanced social work services to clients with mental health diagnoses and substance use disorders. The role includes conducting clinical assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering therapy to individuals and families. This position is part of a Career Progression Series, allowing for advancement based on experience and licensure, and may require a probationary period for new hires.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical assessment and treatment for clients with mental health diagnoses and substance use disorders.
• Complete comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and treatment plans.
• Conduct individual, family, and group therapy sessions.
• Prepare and send progress reports to social service agencies and referral sources.
• Assist in acquiring appropriate resources for clients as needed.
• Collect routine urine drug samples for labs and rapid assessments if required.
• Attend annual and PRN trainings to improve competency in assessment and treatment.
• Collaborate with Peer Support Specialists, Case Management, and Care Coordination for additional patient support.

Requirements

• A master's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work.
• Two years of professional level social services experience.
• Possession of Licensure as a Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) by the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in substance abuse treatment.
• Passed the ADC, AADC, or EMAC exam.
