Responsibilities

• Consults and collaborates with school personnel in data collection and dissemination to modify students' behavior.
• Performs casework service with individual students to address personal, social, or emotional maladjustments.
• Engages in casework service with parents to enhance their knowledge and use of available resources.
• Establishes and maintains relationships with school administrators, teachers, and parents to support social skills programming for students with disabilities.
• Participates in IEP meetings to assist in developing or revising IEPs based on assessments and social histories.
• Acts as a liaison with agencies such as the Mississippi Department of Human Services and Juvenile Court for student referrals.
• Conducts home visits to gather information on students' backgrounds.
• Serves as a liaison between home and school for follow-up on cases requiring additional support.
• Assists students in adjusting to school environments.
• Maintains case records that are free from bias or prejudicial content.
• Provides crisis intervention services to students and their families.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Social Work
• Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the State of Mississippi
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in social work
• Experience working with people with disabilities
