About the position

The Social Worker position at CVS Health is a telework/hybrid role that requires the candidate to be within driving distance of the High Point, North Carolina office. This position is designed for healthcare social workers who will engage in a collaborative process with a registered nurse case manager to assess, plan, and advocate for members' health and benefit needs. The role is crucial in helping members navigate their healthcare options and resources, particularly those facing challenges related to financial, transportation, safety, and housing needs. The Social Worker will be responsible for conducting assessments and providing support to a diverse population throughout their lifecycle. All interactions with members will be conducted telephonically or through electronic means, emphasizing the importance of effective communication and advocacy in a virtual environment. The Social Worker will empower members to make informed lifestyle and medical choices, working closely with other clinical staff to connect them with community resources that address their medical, financial, and behavioral health needs. The normal working schedule for this position is Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5:30 PM EST, with some flexibility required for member calls that may occur after 5 PM. While the role primarily involves telework, there may be occasional travel (0-10%) to the High Point office for customer meetings, highlighting the need for candidates to be adaptable and willing to engage in face-to-face interactions when necessary.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Must have a Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
  • Experience in healthcare social work or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with members and clinical staff.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a telework environment.
