About the position

The Social Worker I position at Mission Regional Medical Center involves providing emotional support, crisis intervention, and counseling to patients and families facing challenges related to hospitalization, illness, disability, or trauma. The role includes case management, psychosocial assessments, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to develop and evaluate treatment plans, as well as coordinating discharge planning.

Responsibilities

  • Provide emotional support, crisis intervention, and counseling to patients and families.
  • Conduct information and referral services for financial assistance and supportive services.
  • Perform case management and milieu management.
  • Complete psychosocial assessments for patients.
  • Assist in the development and re-evaluation of treatment plans.
  • Work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Coordinate discharge planning for patients.
  • Complete necessary documentation and maintain clinical records for each client.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.
  • Current registration as an intern with the appropriate Board, as per education and licensing requirements.
  • Behavior Violence Prevention training within 3 months of hire and maintain current annually.
  • Minimum one year of inpatient or outpatient behavioral health experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current preferred.
  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, or a related field preferred.
