About the position

The Clinical Social Worker in the Mental Health Clinic is responsible for providing comprehensive psychosocial assessments, developing patient-centered treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based psychotherapies to Veterans and their families. This role requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and effective communication with patients and their families to ensure appropriate referrals and resources are utilized. The position is part of the U.S. Government's Veterans Health Administration, emphasizing the importance of mental health support for Veterans.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychosocial/mental health assessments to identify needs and formulate treatment plans with Veterans.
• Develop patient-centered treatment plans and achievable treatment goals with Veterans and significant others.
• Provide crisis intervention services and coordinate family conferences.
• Deliver individual, group, and family evidence-based psychotherapies appropriate to licensure level.
• Plan and organize work while coordinating with clinical interdisciplinary team members.
• Provide patient education on available services and assist in establishing appropriate referrals.
• Develop and update social worker resources within VA and community programs to meet Veterans' needs.
• Execute crisis management treatment plans in a timely and effective manner.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on VA and community resources.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Master's degree in social work from an accredited school.
• Licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.
