Responsibilities

Requirements

• An MSW degree from an accredited Masters of Social Work Program is required.
• Advanced knowledge of categories in mental illness and personality development.
• Knowledge of types of psychiatric treatment and skills in conducting individual, group, and family therapy.
• Knowledge in adjustment to medical diagnosis and chronic disease.
• Strong human relation skills to interact with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
• Psychosocial diagnostic skills and effective communication in verbal and written form.
• Licensure at the Licensed Graduate Social Work (LGSW) or Licensed Independent Social Work (LISW) level from the Minnesota Board of Social Work (MNBOSW) is required.
