The Clinical Social Worker plays a vital role in providing both direct and indirect social work services to patients and their families, under the supervision of the Social Work Supervisor. This position is essential in addressing the psycho-social implications of illness and disease, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive support during their healthcare journey.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct social work services to patients and families.
- Offer indirect social work services as needed.
- Assess the psycho-social needs of patients and families.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop care plans.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Requirements
- Masters in Social Work from an accredited school of social work.
- Hospital experience required.
- Knowledge of psycho-social implications of illness and disease on individual and family systems.
- LCSW required; LICSW preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to work in a team framework.
- Critical thinking skills.
- Organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Computer skills required.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
