About the position

The Social Worker (Program Coordinator) position within the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) at the VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System involves providing program management and leadership across multiple locations. The incumbent will oversee the clinical and administrative operations of the BHIP, ensuring adherence to service standards and fostering a cohesive team environment to deliver effective recovery-oriented treatment programs for Veterans.

Responsibilities

  • Provide program management and leadership to BHIP teams across 13 locations.
  • Implement and monitor fidelity of the BHIP model.
  • Serve as the training lead for staff education and development.
  • Create standard operating procedures and process improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate the work of staff across multiple programs and locations.
  • Assist Mental Health leadership in planning and implementing BHIP policies and procedures.
  • Provide diagnostic, assessment, and treatment services to Veterans with psychological and behavioral issues.
  • Facilitate patient and family education as appropriate.
  • Engage in professional peer review and case conferences to evaluate practice.
  • Develop and maintain professional standards of treatment.

Requirements

  • One year of experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in social work.
  • Advanced practice skills and judgment in social work.
  • Licensure or certification at the advanced practice level.
  • Ability to coordinate and implement specialty programs across facilities.
  • Skill in developing local policies and practice guidelines.
  • Ability to organize work, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in collaborating with internal and external partners for program goals.
  • Ability to provide full supervisory duties including performance evaluations and staff training.
  • Knowledge of fiscal management and budget administration for supervised functions.
